- There is no such thing as external IDE. :) IDE is an internal PC Bus,
- so you are electrically limited to a maximum of a couple of feet. Even
- if it works on your system, you'll have to convince the FCC that it
- wouldn't interfere with other's TV reception. You also have to consider
- that the zip disk itself (ie without a drive head) is a bit more rugged
- than a bare 3.5" HD. How often are you going to be plugging cable in &
- out ? Can you hot swap IDE's ?
-
-
- I bought a 1 gig SCSI HD yesterday from my local clone shop for around
- $200. Now if the 1 gig drives prices drop even more, I would question
- whether or not the Jazz drive was too expensive (Considering the drive
- cost, media costs and storage I would be using during the life time of
- the drive)
-
- I can easily justify the Zip drive as I uses it for backing up, emergency
- recovery and portable drive.

- Actually I remember I was hacking in a hard drive into my A1000 the night
- before my exams. I have always leave studying the night before, I
- managed to get 90+% on the exams for studying < 4 hours that 1/2 the class
- failed & have to repeat. :)
